No injuries in weekend house fire in Weyburn

WEYBURN - In an update on a weekend fire report, there were no injuries in a house fire in Weyburn on Saturday afternoon that caused over $150,000 in damages.

Weyburn fire crews received a report of a fire in a house located on the corner of 10th Street and East Avenue.

First crews arrived on the scene and determined there was a working fire in the basement area with smoke and flames visible.

Crews used a positive pressure fire attack including two 38-mm water lines, six air tanks and two positive pressure fans to blow smoke out of the house, said Fire Chief Simon Almond.

There were no injuries to any residents or fire personnel, he added. The Weyburn Fire Department were assisted on the scene by Weyburn Police, Weyburn EMS and Sask Power.

Crews were back in service by 6 p.m. The fire is under investigation at this time by the fire department.
