Spring is Near! Please remember to dress kids appropriately for the warmer, wetter weather! Layers are great, as it is still cool in the mornings, but warming up by the afternoons. Ski pants or Splash pants and boots are also good to help keep pants and socks dry!
This past month our Grade 6 class enjoyed a ski day to Asessippi as part of their Physical Education curriculum. This was very generously sponsored by Canadian Energy Services. Thank you! Our SCC also hosted a family movie night at the end of February which was well attended by our students and their families!
Badminton has begun again for the grade 5s and 6s! Badminton days are Monday and Wednesday after school until 5:00pm, with students being split into either the Monday group or Wednesday group. Students are welcome to bring their own racquet, or the school has many for the students to use.
The SRC has planned another dress up day for the kids! Friday, March 21st will be Favorite Era Dress up Day! Students are encouraged to dress up in clothing from their favorite Era.
Reminder for Parents - Our intersections are very busy after school. Please be sure that when you are parking in front of the school to stay back from the Stop Sign at least 5 meters. Also remember we are an idle free zonehelp us limit the pollution for our kids!
March is Nutrition Monthmake nutrition fun! Let kids help out with baking at home. They can pick a recipe, measure the ingredients (with help), crack the eggs, stir everything together and talk about how the food looks, smells, feels and tastes.
Our school's Spring Break is coming up. There will be no classes March 24th - 28th. Here are some fun spring break activities that can be done at home! Easy activities are building forts, playing with play dough, Legos, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a new DVD, do crafts together, cook together, organize homemade obstacle courses or even make your own play dough! Classes will resume Monday, March 31st with Day 3 of our 6 day cycle.
