Town council met for its regular meeting on November 2 at 7 p.m. The Post Office is planning on renovating the building, making more mail boxes available to members of the community. The new mail boxes will be located where the counter currently is.

The Post Office is planning on renovating the building, making more mail boxes available to members of the community. The new mail boxes will be located where the counter currently is. The waste and recycling bins will be removed from the area as to encourage people to take all their mail from the Post Office.

Council discussed a collapsed sewer line in front of Co-op and the option to repair it without tearing up the street.

The council has decided to keep the park unlocked at night during functional seasons. It had previously been locked every night and opened in the morning, however, the park will be locked and remain locked over the winter season.

Access channel will be doing a promotion on the history book that is currently being developed for Carlyle. Access will be doing filming around the town.

The town water quality is seeing steady improvement.

The council spoke positively about this years' Halloween. The night went by with no incidents. The RCMP received absolutely no complaints, which is quite a change from years gone by.

There is concern over the speed of traffic coming into and exiting Carlyle. Committee will further discuss their options. There was mention of speed bumps, disallowing U-turns on Main Street, and there was discussion on the current parking set-up on Main Street, and whether a different system would be more optimal or not.

The town budget will be discussed early in the New Year.

The next town meeting will be held Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
