Where’s Janet Mark? She is okay but has resigned as newspaper reporter due to failing eyesight and hearing loss, after four years on the job prompted her decision. (She is 96 now). Our sincere and heartfelt thank you Janet for your dedication and expertise … a job well done.
The first week in September has been busy, and enjoyed by all. Visitors with the tenants has increased and was as follows: Cheryl, Mandy and Darlene – Leora Thiessen; Valerie and Dorothy – Betty Walker; Rhonda and Ross – Dozy; Wayne Smythe – Larry; April Gadger – Carol; Sharon Beutler – Joyce; Rebecca Hill – Mildred Wilson; Lydia and Ward – The Krukoffs twice; Marlee Swallow, Larry Husband and Charlotte Kovach – Irene Husband; John and Maxine – Ralph.
Wearing a mask is still very important as well as six-foot distancing between individuals. Keep yourself safe as well as us at the Villa and others. Thank you.
Last Friday we celebrated Irene Husband’s birthday during our noon meal with a special birthday. Then we all joined in singing a hearty Happy Birthday to her. At 2 p.m. that same day we had a farewell party for Manuela and Sandra Dick who will be moving to Steinbach, Man., very soon. (They sang a lovely duet to us prior to the party).
A meaningful farewell plaque was presented to each of them from all of us, stating their good work, kind and caring manner during their employment at the villa.
Mary Thiessen with her guitar led us in our regular hymnsing. Because of cooler temperatures and a threat of rain, we sang indoors.
Bingo was on our agenda for three afternoons last week, floor curling once and regular exercises once.
Charlotte’s movie and popcorn was enjoyed on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
We have serveal volunteer pianists who entertain us with their talent quite often - Janet Mark, Sandra Dick, Manuela Dick and Judy Skiba. They also are our accompanists for sing-a-longs on occasion.
