Maryfield Sunrise Villa holds tenants meeting

We hear harvest reports, local and from near Regina. Fred Krukoff has harvested his garlic; and we had several meals from his first patch of beans from the Russian seeds.

The tenants association met with Angela Penner, with Ralph Burke serving as chairperson. He asked that people bring him their concerns beforehand, to help him set up an agenda.

In the eight years since she moved to the Villa, Janet Mark has met 80 tenants. She moved a vote of confidence and appreciation to manager Angela Penner and her staff, for the wonderful care and attention given to us. The many strange regulations required by COVID-19 have made her work very difficult.

Joyce Gillies expressed all our concerns about COVID-19. 鈥淚t is not going away! Let us do all we can to make life easier for each other.鈥 That afternoon she called Bingo, rather than see it cancelled. Many preferred the TV to be off at mealtime, as that is one time we can share with each other.

Janet will remain as reporter, 鈥淎s long as I can see to type,鈥 or unless anyone else wants the job.

Charlotte Kovach brought in a movie and popcorn and Mary Thiessen led a hymn sing in the courtyard.

We can have two visitors in our room or courtyard, but they must sign in and out, as the sheets are kept for possible COVID tracking. Barbara Dennis took Ruth out to lunch in Moosomin. Dolores and Joanne Donais visited her that afternoon. Al and Val Robertson visited with Ralph Burke in 鈥渢he beautiful courtyard.鈥

Gillis Burke came for the afternoon and evening on the 11th. Fran Fitzpatrick and Rick Colborn cleared out Joan鈥檚 room, as she has moved to Wawota.

Theresa Krukoff of Edmonton has been visiting Fred and Mariann and has been in and out from her sister鈥檚.

Joyce Gillies had a great visit with Sharon Beutler and Kim Zacaruk. Larry and Marion Husband had a morning visit with Irene, Janet Mark鈥檚 niece, Caroline Houston and John Lykye, who live on an acreage south of Regina. He came on his motorcycle and enjoyed the courtyard with her. Rebecca Hill, homecare nurse, visited Mildred Wilson. Mary Lou Sweeting visited Betty Walker, as did Valerie VanDrecar. R. Swanton came to see Marie. (The sheets cover visitors to August 11).

Thank you to all the gardeners of Maryfield. Francis Sheard just buzzed in with more surplus from his garden and orchard.

Also, a big thank you to Rodney Johnston for the donation of a new Blue-ray DVD for our TV.

Special happy birthday greetings to Janet Mark, celebrating her 96th birthday.
