Ladies golf for Red Coat Coat Mutual Aid

The Drive for Lives Charity Golf Tournament (formerly known as Shoot for the STARs Tournament) was held Friday, July 19 at the White Bear Golf Course with 128 golfers in attendance.

         The Drive for Lives Charity Golf Tournament (formerly known as Shoot for the STARs Tournament) was held Friday, July 19 at the White Bear Golf Course with 128 golfers in attendance. This year the funds were raised for the Red Coat Mutual Aid, in conjunction with the Carlyle and Redvers fire departments. This covers over 2,400 kms within the three RM’s of Antler, Brock and Moose Mountain.

         Following the tournament, supper was held at the Bear law Casino.

         The score was so very close but the winners of the day were Wendy Currie, Colleen Currie Linda Gliem, and Bernie Blackstock with a score of 69. Second place winning team was Donna Coffey, Bev Grimes, Connie McIntrye and Jan Keating with a score of 70.

         Rob Klassen and Travis Van Meer of the Red Coat Mutual Aid ran the Target Putting Contest. The outer ring being worth 5 points, first ring 10 points, second ring 15 points and in the cup was worth 30 points.  For $5.00 each lady got three chances to putt and the lady with the most points won half the pot for the contest. Total amount raised was $660.00. There were two lucky winners, so the pot was split between Doris Morrow and Jan Keating, each receiving $165.00.

         Guests speaker Rob Klassen, Deputy Chief from the Carlyle Fire Department explained some of the services and help they have given at accidents.

         Zoey Dubois also was a guest speaker.  Zoey spoke on the help that was given from   the Red Coat Mutual Aid and others the freezing cold evening of the accident that her and her mother Cheryl  Dubois were involved.
