Natasha, Ben, and Raymond held a concert in Kisbey to raise funds for the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship, which will be held next year in Saskatoon.

On Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:30 p.m., a concert was held at the Kisbey Rec Centre. The Knorr Kids of Regina were brought by Fern Rebekah Lodge #33 to perform old time hits. Adults entered for $10, children for $5, and preschoolers were able to enjoy a beautiful tune for free.

The Knorr Kids are helping to raise money for the Canadian Grand Masters (CGM) Fiddle Championship that will be held next year in Saskatoon on Aug. 24. This is the first year the CGM will be held outside of Ottawa, where it has been held every year since its inception in 1980. Therefore, the Knorr Kids are helping to raise funds to be put towards CGM.

The very talented Knorr Kids played for a couple of hours with a short intermission between sets. The Rebekah's had a variety of dainties, coffee, tea, and ice tea available. In all they were able to host over 70 people in the Kisbey Rec Centre. The audience was made up of a variety of people from across the southeast including people from as far as Kipling and Weyburn.

Everyone was amazed by these talented youth. The group is made up of siblings Raymond, Ben, and Natasha. Raymond played the fiddle, Ben played the guitar as well as the banjo, and Natasha played the accordion and spoons.

They all are able to do so much more. Raymond plays the bass in their school jazz band, plays the saxophone, viola, and is in the school choir. Ben is also able to play the French horn, slide trombone, cello, and also sings in the school choir. Natasha also plays the clarinet and is in the school choir as well. All are in high school and are phenomenally talented, which they credit to much practice and encouragement from their parents.

The youth played some well known tunes such as Wildwood Flower and the Orange Blossom Special; but, they also played some lesser known tunes. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance singing along to certain songs and tapping their toes during the entire concert. The Knorr Kids were also quite the entertainers while both introducing songs and playing them.

"We will play the Chicken Reel and Fiddle Fingers next. When we play them together we like to call it, Chicken Fingers," said Ben which resulted in giggles across the crowd.

The Rebekah's not only sponsored the concert, but made a donation towards the CGM as well. Hoping to make the first CGM held outside of Ottawa an amazing experience for all the Knorr Kids are doing what they can to raise money for the project.

In the end the Knorr Kids were enjoyed to the utmost as they roused the crowd to a standing ovation.
