The Redvers Arts Council and the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Council (OSAC) will be hosting their first concert of the season by welcoming performing artist Jimmy Rankin.
Rankin is a Canadian Roots singer with 25 years in music he has achieved numerous accolades and is a well known Canadian artist. He is currently touring through Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan with his tour "Back Road Paradise."
Celebrating his sixth solo album of the same title which Rankin says, "We've gotten so much positive response to the songs on this album..."
Rankin first started playing music as a young man joining his siblings in the Rankin Family. Together they quickly became well known for their Cape Breton Celtic sound. Following this experience brothers and sisters of the Rankin family decided to pursue solo careers.
Proud of his new album, he describes it as being "...really catchy, you can write that kind of song in another genre, but these are country pop songs, with great choruses and great arrangements. To me, it's nice to sing those songs and have people recognize them and sing along to them. That's where I am these days."
