A heat warning is now in effect for the Carlyle area.
According to the advisory, issued by Environment Canada at 4:03 a.m. Thursday, temperatures reaching 32 C, combined with overnight lows near 16 C, are expected for the next two days.
A hot air mass continues to spread across southern Saskatchewan, with daytime temperatures in the low 30s and overnight lows in the mid to high teens.
Slightly cooler temperatures will move into the southwest on Friday and southeast on Saturday, bringing an end to the warning level conditions.
People are urged to watch for the effects of heat illness, such as swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
Also, a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for the Carlyle region earlier Thursday. It was issued at 5:01 a.m. and lifted at 6:49 a.m.
