Makenna Morrison, Gracie Schutz, Anna Doty, and Sydney Flynn are at the National Student Leadership Conference in Waterloo with Mrs. Smoliak this week. They would like to thank the businesses and community members that helped support them in fundraising for the trip. We had a great golf season at GFK this fall.聽 Lane Newall, Ethan Newall, Jarred Valentine and Zach Romanuk golfed in Estevan on Sept 12.聽 They all golfed well and enjoyed the day.聽 On Sept.16, Carter Morrison, Degan Galbraith, Colby Cyr, and Nate Robertson travelled to Moosomin. Even in the cold, the boys golfed well. Thanks to Mr. Jarvis who met with our golf team and helped to sharpen their skills. Congratulations to all the golfers who represented our school this year. Congratulations to the GFK Cross Country Team runners who competed at a mini-meet in Estevan last week. In the Grade 7 Boys鈥� Category Mitch Himmelspach finished first, in Grade 7 Girls鈥� Kerri Lachapeele was 5th, Kadence Desrosiers was 6th, and Margaret Boyko was 7th. In the Midget Boys鈥� category Nathan Simons was 1st, Kris Bjarnason was 2nd, and Jonah Dyck was 3rd! Way to go! Fitness club is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, every week from 7:45 鈥� 8:30. All fitness levels are welcome. Come out and get your day started with some fitness. Junior Boys鈥� Volleyball is well underway at GFK. The boys are playing 10 exhibition games throughout September, October, and November to get ready for district playoffs on Nov. 9th. Good luck this season junior boys. If there are any interested community members who would like to get involved basketball in the new year, please contact the school. GFK School is looking for volunteers for this year鈥檚 3A Girls鈥� Provincial聽Volleyball Championships to be held November 17th and 18th. If interested, please contact Trent W. Johnson at GFK School.
