Grad is coming up. The Class of 2017 would like to invite the community to share in the celebration of their graduation on Saturday, June 10, at 7:00PM, at the hockey rink. The class would also like to thank all the parents and businesses who helped out with the BBQ fundraiser last week and all the businesses and community members who purchased burgers and hot dogs. Thank you so much for your support!

A total of 17 GFK athletes competed at the District Track Meet in Weyburn on May 24^th. Everyone did very well and many achieved personal bests. Athletes that finished in the top 4 in their event included: Bantam Boys: Nathan Simons 鈥� 2^nd in the 800m; 3^rd in the 3000m / Jonah Dyck 鈥� 3^rd in the 800m / Cade Bendtsen 鈥� 1^st in Long Jump Bantam Girls: Kyla Fischer 鈥� 4^th in the 200m; 4^th in Triple Jump / Taylor Sharp 鈥� 1^st in the 800m; 1st in the 1500m / Kendra Schultz 鈥� 2^nd in Javelin Midget Boys: Tucker Sharp 鈥� 1^st in the 1500m; 1^st in the 3000m / Brayden Hill 鈥� 4^th in Discus Junior Girls: Gracie Schutz 鈥� 1^st in the 100m; 2^nd in the 200m; 1^st in the 400m / Senior Boys: Rawson Marsh 鈥� 4^th in the 100m; 3^rd in High Jump; 3^rd in Triple Jump / Julyco Opena 鈥� 3^rd in the 200m; 4^th in Triple Jump Senior Girls: Taylor Sargent 鈥� 1^st in 80m Hurdles; 1^st in the 100m / Jorja Bendtsen 鈥� 2^nd in 80m Hurdles; 4^th in the 200m / Karli Colpitts 鈥� 1^st in Shot Put; 1^st in Discus; 2^nd in Javelin. Best of luck to the following athletes who will now go on to compete at the Provincial Track and Field meet in Saskatoon on June 2^nd and 3^rd: Tucker Sharp, Gracie Schutz, Taylor Sargent, Jorja Bendtsen, and Karli Colpitts.

The next School Community Council Meeting is June 14 at 6:00 PM at the elementary school. This is a potluck meeting. All parents are welcome to attend.

GFK School is beginning to look for volunteers for next year鈥檚 3A Girls鈥� Provincial听Volleyball Championships to be held November 17th and 18th. If interested, please contact Trent W. Johnson at GFK School.
