This is the last month of the first semester. For grade 10-12 students, this means that final exams will be from Monday, Jan. 27 till Thursday, Jan. 30. On-going review is the best way to ensure success on these finals. Cramming just the night before exams often results in a tired and "going blank" situation. The Final Exam Schedule will be out soon. Report cards will be going home in early February. 5. There is no school on Friday, January 31st, 2014. This is the Semester Turn Around / Staff Development Day for Term 2.
The senior and junior drama clubs have started up again this year. In April, Carlyle will be hosting the Regional Festival. This festival will be running from Thursday, April 10, till Saturday, April 12. There are currently 9 plays registered.
The curling teams continue to practise and play. The division playoffs are in February.
On the last Thursday of the month, students from the G.F. Kells High School will be out in the community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. January's Day of Help will be Thursday, January 30th, 2014. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: [email protected] with your ideas for Day of Help!
