After another very successful year of our Pink Day celebration on Thursday, May 1st, Gordon F. Kells would like to extend a huge thank-you to the following parents and community members whose extra help and volunteer efforts made the event possible: Kelly Waugh, Kristi MacDonald, Lynda Biberdorf, Frances Boutin, Lisa Robertson, Glen Walters, Che Cormier, and Autumn Barta. Thank you as well goes out to Moose Mountain Mud for the continued use of their barbeque during the hot dog lunch, and Mr. Birch for taking on cooking duties. GFK is proud to carry on the Pink Day tradition and stand against bullying.

There is no school on Monday, May 19th, 2014.

The Band students, under the direction of Mr. Kevin Dyck, had a great trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba, last week. They got to participate in some excellent workshops and perform for a variety of audiences.

Friday, May 23rd, 2014, is Team Day at GFK - Wear your favourite jersey, team apparel, or just apparel from a team or group you belong too. (ex. drama, SADD, etc)

GFK's First Annual "Spring Time in Paris" Art Gala is Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 @ 7pm at GFK School. More details to follow.

The Science Club is new to GFK. It meets Fridays after school from 3:15 to 4:30pm. Everyone is welcome!

Thanks to all of those who donated cans or purchased beef jerky to help the SLT students who are travelling to the National Conference in BC next school year.

On the last Thursday of the month, students from the G.F. Kells High School will be out in the community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. The next 2 Thursdays they are cleaning up garbage, and shingles, around town. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: [email protected] with your ideas for Day of Help!
