On Halloween evening, students will be going door to door to collect non-perishable food items for the Food Bank as part of the "We Scare Hunger" campaign. If the students don't make it to your door for the Food Bank cause, donations can be dropped off at the school. We will also be collecting at school during Advisory Group Time. Please send non-perishable food items to school with your children to help support this important cause.
The Senior Girls won their home tournament on the weekend. Attending were Carnduff, Estevan, and Redvers. On the first weekend in November, they will be playing in Conference Playoffs right here in Carlyle. Come out and cheer on the team!
On the last Thursday of the month (may change), students from the GF.Kells High School will be out in community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Whether it's picking garbage, raking leaves, shoveling snow, or anything else, our students are willing to help! Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: [email protected] with your ideas for Day of Help! Next Day of Help: October, 24, 2013.
On Monday, Mrs. Jones took the grade 10 classes for a tour of the Legislative Building in Regina. Dan D' Autremont met with the students and answered questions about being an MLA.
The Student Leadership set up a harvest display in the front of the school, thanks to a generous donation of two scare crows from Dave and Anita Simmons. This month they have had many SPOOKTAKULAR activities! They have also taken on the environment. There are compost bins in every classroom and every student activity that our school organizes will only use compostable products!
