Last week the Cross Country Team competed at the Division Meet in Carnduff. It was a beautiful day and there were more than 500 runners at the event! In the Midget Boys' Division, Kirk Zacharias finished 6th and Jory Dyck finished 10th. Both of them advance to the Provincial Meet in Little Loon Regional Park (North of North Battleford) this weekend. In the Grade 7 Boys' Division, Tucker Sharp finished 16th and Judah Wardrope finished 19th. In the Grade 8 Boys' Division, Matthew Forcier finished 13th and Eathan Anderson, in an incredible race, finished in 1st! They all had personal best times and some very exciting finishes. Ask them about their races when you see them. Congratulations to all the GFK runners.
On the last Thursday of the month (may change), students from the GF.Kells High School will be out in community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Whether it's picking garbage, raking leaves, shoveling snow, or anything else, our students are willing to help! Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: [email protected] with your ideas for Day of Help! Next Day of Help: October, 24, 2013.
Volleyball is in full swing and spike at GFK. The Senior Girls' Volleyball Team went to a tournament in Weyburn last weekend. They played very well and finished in 6th place out of 16 teams. They are all very excited about the upcoming playoffs. Upcoming home games for the Rookie Volleyball team, coached by Mrs. Beaver, are on October 9th against Carnduff and on October 30th against Manor. Come out and cheer on the Rookie Boys Team.
The school is currently fundraising with the annual Magazine Campaign. Please support our school through this campaign.
