The school volleyball season wrapped up last week. The grade 8 girls' volleyball team went to Oxbow for playoffs on November 9. The girls played hard but came up short in the playoff round. Everyone improved all aspects of their game as the season progressed. The girls would to thank Ms. Tara Bendtson for helping coach this year.

The rookie boys' volleyball team also competed in playoffs on Nov. 9. These were held in Carlyle and the boys had saved their best for the playoffs. They had great matches and ended up second in their pool. The boys had a lot of fun this season and their improvement was obvious in their excellent performance on Wednesday.

The rookie girls' volleyball team competed in their playoffs in Carnduff on the 9th. The girls improved throughout the day and finished second in their pool and fourth overall. Way to go girls. Congratulations to all the teams.

On Thursday, Nov. 10, the students of G.F. Kells attended a Remembrance Day Service at the elementary school. The student run service was very well done with songs, videos, and readings of remembrance.

Report cards went home on Nov. 18th. Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Nov. 24th and 25th from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm. All parents are encouraged to attend.

If you are looking for a Christmas idea for your son or daughter, we may have something that interests you. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Birch have put together the first ever GFK Clothing Line and will soon be open for business with all the items. In the next couple of weeks, order forms will be available and all art work will be displayed for the various items. To begin, GFK will be offering track suits, hoodies, sweats, t-shirts (with long sleeve options) and golf shirts. Please check out the blog for additional information in the days ahead!

The school newsletter has been mailed to all parents. If you do not have one, come on over to the school and pick one up.

Along with the school, the Student Council is fundraising in order to purchase two virtual information signs. We are looking for sponsorship with the potential for advertising on these high tech signs. Anyone interested should contact Mr. Howe at the school.
