Badminton District Playoffs were held last week. Congratulations to Blaize Meyer, Devan Fafard, and Jailei Meyer who took part in Senior District Badminton in Carnduff on May 3, 2011. Jailei took home the Bronze in Girls' Singles - a job well done. Congratulations also to the Rookie and Junior players who competed at District Playoffs in Maryfield and Carnduff. All the players were great representatives for G.F. Kells and played great badminton. In Rookie Mixed Doubles, Megan Shirley and Josh Brown finished 3rd and in Rookie Boys' Doubles, Dawson Hoffart and Cale Fleury finished 3rd as well. In Junior Girls' Singles, Mykayla Brems finished 4th in her pool; in Junior Girls' Doubles, Kacey Valentine and Brooklyn Zacharias finished 4thoverall; and in Junior Mixed Doubles, Renae Fafard and Brayden Starr received Gold Medals! Way to go badminton players!
The G. F. Kells Drama Club is heading to Regina for the May 14 weekend to attend the Provincial Drama Festival. Though they were Runner-up this year, the club is looking forward to seeing the 12 plays which won Regional Festivals around the province.
