ESTEVAN - A GoFundMe campaign is underway to help the family of an Estevan woman who died recently.
Becca Foord created the campaign, named Zach and Duke Seipp. Foord noted that on April 21, Meaghan Seipp passed away, leaving Meaghan’s husband Zach, infant son Duke, and Meaghan’s family and friends to mourn her loss.
“If you know Meaghan and Zach, you'd know they're always around to help out,” Foord said. “Their careers both required them to be helpers and take care of people. Meaghan's required her to care for patients and their families during their times of need.
“Zach's career focuses on caring for people's equipment and vehicles so they can get home safely to their families and loved ones.”
Friends, family and complete strangers have benefitted from Zach and Meaghan’s ability to handle a crisis, whether it be personal or professional, Foord said.
“One phone call and they're offering advice, a hand, a hug or a shoulder to cry on. Meaghan and Zach have always been known to serve others through and through. Zach and Duke now need our help.”
There has been a trust fund set up in Duke's name at the Affinity Credit Union, where people can drop off donations, and an email account is set up for e-transfers at [email protected].
Foord wrote that Duke’s family is so appreciative of all those who have donated to Duke's future. The GoFundMe is set up to help Zach with their more immediate needs as they find their way through this difficult chapter in life.
The trust and the GoFundMe have been set up with the permission of Zach, his family and Meaghan's family. These are the only two fundraisers that are currently set up to support the Seipp family.
Foord thanked everyone for their love and kindness to Zach and Meaghan’s families during this time.
The campaign was launched Wednesday evening, and as of Thursday afternoon, it had raised $26,320 of its $50,000 goal.
