For Saskatchewan Family Day, the government has organized a free fishing weekend, which means no licence is needed to enjoy a weekend of fishing; however fishing regulations and rules still apply.
Free fishing is available in Saskatchewan for the entire family day weekend: Feb. 17-19.
If interested but do not have the equipment or have never ice fished before the Moose Mountain Wildlife Federation will be hosting a free fishing day on Sunday, Feb. 18, at Kenosee Lake. They will have fishing rods, gear, bait, shacks, food, and drinks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. according to their Facebook event page.
The event is open to all ages as a way to experience the excitement of ice fishing this winter.
If you have any questions or would like to register contact Randy George at 306-840-7900.
