On Thursday, July 8, 2021 the Carnduff RCMP Detachment received a complaint from a distressed livestock producer who has been finding that his bison enclosures are being left open repeatedly. The complainant believed that these actions are intentional given they are being repeated.Â
The negligence of intentionally leaving enclosures open, containing bison or cattle, cannot be overstated. Grain and livestock producers spend countless hours nurturing their products for market, and all the while do so having to worry about natural hazards out their control. So, to add intentional or preventable stress is not necessary. Further, the implications and risk that wandering bison and cattle pose to unsuspecting motorists is of great concern..
