Moose Mountain Lion’s Club organized a Family Fun Day at Moose Mountain Provincial Park on Monday, February 17.
This year the location was at McNaughton Heights. The Lions’ objective for this event on the long weekend in February, is to show appreciation for the support they receive from the surrounding area at the many fundraisers they host each year.
The Lions put the event on at no charge, treating everyone to hot chocolate, hotdogs, sodas and an outdoor campfire.
There is a great hill for tobogganing, featuring all the thrills, spills and bumps and bruises! There were snowmobile rides and cross-country skiing, in which rentals were also free on this day.
McNaughton Heights features a warm-up shelter with a wood stove to keep everyone warm, as well as some of the best scenery the Park offers.
This year had a large turnout with an estimated crowd of 150 people of all ages. Many of the people were from the surrounding communities in the area, as well as people that ventured to the park for the weekend. The weather was co-operative and it was the perfect day for a family outing.
