ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service is working in conjunction with other Saskatchewan police agencies to send body armour and flashlights to Ukraine.
In a news release issued Tuesday, the EPS said the equipment sent will be used flashlights, along with used and expired armour, that can be utilized to support the evacuation of civilians and the ongoing humanitarian efforts in the country.
This initiative came about after a local woman, who has been a big part of fundraising for the people of Ukraine, approached the EPS to see if there was any chance that there would be spare equipment available.
The EPS has reached out to the Regina Police Service and will be delivering equipment to them to add to the next shipment to Ukraine.
