ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service (EPS) has charged a 30-year-old man with five counts of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

According to a news release from the EPS issued Monday morning, the man was using a debit card that was not his at several local businesses over the weekend. He was found late Sunday night and was arrested for the offences.

During the weekend, police laid several charges against a 51-year-old man for multiple offences, including theft under $5,000, mischief and resisting arrest. He was released on conditions of an undertaking and will appear in court in November.

The EPS is involved with the investigations of garbage bin fires from last week as well as a shed fire in the 400-block of First Street Saturday morning. All the fires have been deemed suspicious in nature. If anyone has information, they are asked to call the EPS or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. Police are encouraging residents in the affected areas to reach out if they happen to have video surveillance on their properties that may have evidence that could assist.
