Estevan police investigating thefts from vehicles

ESTEVAN - Police received a report Friday of thefts from vehicles in the Centennial area. There was also a report of an individual seen during the early morning hours. The matter is still under investigation. 

Police remind the public to secure their property and not to leave valuables in plain view in their vehicles. The EPS says these types of thefts are often a crime of opportunity.

Police also received a report of an individual operating their personal vehicle as a taxi, which is contrary to the bylaw and regulations. The matter is still under investigation.

Members were dispatched to a residence in the Pleasantdale area for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers attended and were able to mediate the situation for the night. No further police involvement was needed. 

Police attended to a noise bylaw complaint. The owner was not home initially, but upon returning, was warned of the bylaw.

Police were dispatched Wednesday to a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, one of the parties had already left the scene. The matter remains under investigation.

Police received a report of a scam in which the complainant stated he was asked to deposit money into a bitcoin account and, in return, would have been able to invest the money earned. The EPS would like to caution the public that these types of scams are out there and to be mindful when asked to send someone money, promising you will earn money in return.
