Estevan police investigating a theft, make an arrest for an assault

ESTEVAN -

Members of the Estevan Police Service are investigating several incidents that occurred on Feb. 13, including a theft from a business.

Police received the report of a break, enter and theft from a local business. The business lost their deposit and float. The matter is still under investigation.

Officers received a report of mischief to property. A statement was obtained from the property owner for the investigation.

Police were called to a reported theft of a cheque from a mailbox. The matter is still under investigation.

Officers performed a number of well-being checks on different individuals. All of them were located and spoken to by police. One was spoken to by the PACT team. No further action was required.

Police received a report of a possible fraud. The matter is also being investigated.

Members received a 911 call from a child reporting her father was being stabbed. Police attended and determined that it was a dispute with a neighbour and nobody had been stabbed. Officers mediated a resolution to the dispute.

Police attended to a report of assault on Feb. 14. A 17-year-old Estevan youth was arrested and charged. The youth was released on conditions to appear in court at a later date.

The black Dodge Dart reported to be stolen over the weekend has been recovered and is in the possession of the owner. The matter is still under investigation.

Police attended to a disturbance in the Trojan subdivision. Members spoke to the parties involved and mediated a resolution. One of the parties was given a ride to leave the residence and go to another location for the time being.

Officers attended a disturbance call in the Dennis Moore Centennial Park area. Police transported an individual to St. Joseph’s Hospital to connect the person to services.

Police received a request to do a well-being check on an individual. Members attended, spoke to the party involved and determined nothing further was required.
