Estevan man arrested for failing to provide breath sample; damaging police property

ESTEVAN - An Estevan man has been charged with a couple of offences after he was arrested Tuesday.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a 44-year-old. The officer noticed signs of impairment and a demand was made for a standard field sobriety test. The man refused to submit to the test.

He was arrested for refusal and transported to the police station, where he was lodged until sober. He will speak to his charges in July. He was also charged for damaging property of the Estevan Police Service.

Police received a request for extra patrols around City of Estevan workers that were completing road and water line repairs. Motorists are reminded to please obey all signs and to slow down to 30 kilometres per hour when passing workers.

Members received a report of uttering threats. A statement was obtained and the matter remains under investigation.

Officers were called to remove an unwanted person from a residence. Members attended and the individual left without incident.

Police were notified of a report of mischief to a vehicle. It received damage sometime within the last few days. Nail polish and a marker were used to damage the vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.

Officers were called to assist in removing an unwanted guest from an apartment complex. The individual was spoken to.

Police were dispatched to a parking lot for a report of a male breaking into a vehicle. Police attended and located the male, who was trying to break into his own vehicle. Police provided some assistance and were able to locate the motorist's keys.

Members were called to a local liquor establishment for a possible disturbance involving patrons. Upon arrival, all parties had left the scene and no further action was required.

Police were called to a residence in the south area of Estevan for a report of a loud truck towing a trailer. Members attended and did not locate the suspect vehicle.
