ESTERHAZY — The first meeting of a the newly-formed town of Esterhazy council on Nov. 27 saw many items tabled, and some learning curves for new faces at the table. One motion presented by Mayor Randy Bot was to change the day that council meets.
After many years of meeting every second and fourth Wednesday, (with only one meeting in July, August, and December), Mayor Bot proposed breaking with tradition in favour of a new meeting date of Thursdays.
Bott said that Thursdays work better for his schedule.
Council approved the change, but will stick to the 6:30 pm start time.
Council committee appointments
The following committee appointments were made during last week’s meeting. Mayor Bot is an ex-officio member of all committees.
Community Improvement Committee: Bryant Campbell.
Economic Development: Mayor Bot
Esterhazy and District Hospital: Maggie Rowland
General Government: Maggie Rowland and Dana Paidel
Langenburg Activity Centre: William Gale
Public Works and Landfill: Bryant Campbell, William Gale, and Martin Pfeifer.
Recreation: Nichol Kripki, Maggie Rowland
Regional Fire Board: Marty Pfeifer
Water Treatment Plant: Dana Paidel and Marty Pfeifer.
