ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were called to a couple of accidents earlier this week.

Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Rooney Road and Kensington Avenue on Jan. 4. One vehicle was towed from the scene and minor injuries were reported. One of the drivers was charged under the Traffic Safety Act. The EPS is reminding the public to drive according to the road conditions.

Police also received a report of suspicious activity in the Hillcrest area. Residents are reminded to lock your car doors and to remove all valuables from your vehicle.

Members arrested and charged a 26-year-old Estevan man with mischief under $5,000 on Jan. 5 after damage was reported to a local bank the previous day. The male was released for Provincial Court in February and has been placed on conditions.

A motor vehicle collision was reported in central Estevan on Jan. 5 that resulted in one vehicle being towed due to the damages sustained. No injuries were reported.

A Social Insurance Number fraud/scam case was reported. The public is reminded to be aware of these and other frauds and to not provide any information of any kind, even though it may seem harmless. Legit organizations do not conduct business in this manner. If you’re unsure, it’s always safer to hang up, look up the verified number of the involved and inquire.
