Dennis Coffey, a seasoned driver, has decided to start a driving service based in Carlyle to help people from the rural southeast get to and from the city for doctor appointments, airport pick up and drop off, as well as parcel pick up.

For many people getting to doctor appointments and to the airport in the city can cause a great deal of stress. Many people don't drive, while others are nervous on the winter roads and are continually looking for a friend or acquaintance that might be travelling.

In response to this need, Dennis Coffey of Carlyle has decided to create a driving service based out of Carlyle. Intending to service the immediate area Coffey explained that the local area he is looking at assisting may range from Stoughton to Manor to Alameda.

"I heard from a few different people that there was a need for a service like this: getting to doctor appointments, picking up people at the airport, or getting a parcel," Coffey stated.

Helping his brother farm over the years, Coffey found the markets to be difficult this year and his decision to begin the service developed through this challenge.

"I've been helping my brother farm for many years and this year the grain's not moving, so I had to find something to do," Coffey explained.

"I just thought I'm going to start this little service and see how it goes."

With a need being expressed in the area Coffey made the decision that he could easily fill the demand as he has an abundance of driving experience and has even had the role of driver instructor for 18 years within the Â鶹ÊÓƵ East Cornerstone School Division.

With the option of a car or a truck, Coffey said Carlyle is a central location in reaching four cities within approximately a two-hour radius.

"Carlyle's pretty central to four cities: Regina, Yorkton, Brandon, MB, and Minot, ND," Coffey said. "It doesn't really matter which way you go."

Cost for the service will range as each person

"Each person will be charged differently depending on where I'm driving to and from," Coffey explained.

Cost will, therefore, not be uniform, but a reasonable cost taking into account the variations will be developed for each call Coffey receives.

With the service just developing Coffey looks forward to answering any questions and can be contacted through (306)453-2922 or (306)577-8096.
