A disturbance outside a local lounge attracted police attention on the night of May 28.
Estevan Police Service (EPS) personnel said that several men were spoken to regarding their behaviour but none of them wished to provide statements about what had taken place. One man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for medical attention.
That same night, a 33-year-old Edmonton man who was operating a trailer unit at the intersection of Fourth Street and Souris Avenue took the corner too tight and ran into a traffic light standard on the southeast corner of the intersection. He was charged with driving without due care and attention while City of Estevan employees in the public works department attended the scene to put temporary traffic control signs into place until the repairs could be undertaken.
A 23-year-old Estevan woman was charged that same night with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and operating a vehicle while her blood-alcohol content was over. 08 per cent.
The night shift also produced a 25-year-old Stoughton man who was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. He was placed in cells until sober.
High winds that night led to a power pole being blown down near the underpass on Highway 39 west. SaskPower employees attended the scene to tend to the damage after the pole was removed from the highway.
A domestic dispute on the city's east side required police attention on the night of May 28. Three women and two men were spoken to by police and the tenants in the residence remained there while other parties left the premises.
On May 30, police received a call regarding a dead rabbit in a backyard at a local residence. The caller said that it appeared as if the rabbit had been shot just recently since people had been working in the yard all afternoon and had not spotted the animal earlier.
Another call regarding a vehicle striking a large dog was reported to police but when they attended the scene, no dog or any sign of a dog was apparent.
The next call to police came from a local fast food restaurant where employees reported four people going through the drive through appeared to be drinking liquor at the same time.
A description of the vehicle was provided and police located it and the occupants a short while later. As a result of the stop, 17 liquor related charges were imposed plus two warrants were executed and four charges of public mischief were laid along with an impaired driving charge.
Those who were charged have a July 19 court date.
