Crossroads Multiple 4-H Club holds public speaking

Twenty one 4-H club members of the Stoughton club gathered in the Stoughton Legion on the evening of Feb. 10th to present their speeches and have the opportunity to compete at the District 1 public speaking in March.

Twenty one 4-H club members of the Stoughton club gathered in the Stoughton Legion on the evening of Feb. 10th to present their speeches and have the opportunity to compete at the District 1 public speaking in March.

Judging the speeches were Bev Gordon, Heather Balon Barmann,Robert Fenn and Richard Knibbs.

The winners are:

Senior: 1st: Shelby King with a speech on her volleyball team

2nd: Kayla King with her speech on learning to hunt

Intermediate: 1st: Nevin Breault with his speech on school

2nd: Tyler Slimmon with his speech on sno-cross

Junior:

1st: Ashley Breault with her speech on how to annoy people

2nd: Veronica Griffin on her involvement with the Weyburn Humane Society

3rd: Kaylee Bjarnason with her speech on the Bermuda triangle

Cloverbud:

1st: Dylan Campbell with his speech on hockey

2nd: Erin Campbell with her speech on dancing

After the speeches, lunch was served, the judges gave their rmarks and the certificates and prizes were handed out.

The first place winners move onto District 1 Public Speaking in Estevan on March 20, 2011. The public are invited to attend. The location is Days Inn at the Taylorton Room.
