"We're here for your convenience." New Hope Country Convenience states on their menu.

Colin Vogel had worked for eight years in sales at Carlyle Motor Products alongside great individuals such as Garnet Goud the owner and the fantastic staff there including Ryan Vogel, Colin's brother.

"Life is all about people, I've had the great privilege to work alongside a lot of successful ones and was able to learn much from them." Vogel said about his experiences.

Through these eight years Vogel realized his love of dealing with people and in May of 2010 the opportunity presented itself to take over the Esso Service Station. After purchasing the property from Tim and Holly Fraser, Vogel began operating the Esso.

In January of this year another opportunity presented itself. After considering renovations at the service station to update the restaurant he was given the chance to buy Don's Place, located just across highway 13 from the service station. Closing the restaurant in the Esso he then moved it to the new location.

"We may have named it New Hope Country Convenience, but for many people it will always be referred to as Don's Place." Vogel stated while fondly speaking of Don Richardson's establishment.

After renovations and a few small changes were made the restaurant was reopened. All of these alterations have been well received by the customers. In addition to these changes, Colin states that "our success is due to great service, great staff, and our loyal customers."

The full menu boasts a wide variety of items. Breakfast served all day, homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, Certified Angus steaks, and a variety of entrees. The most popular meals, though, are the burgers. These are handmade at the restaurant. Their claim to fame is the Bakken Burger, which is a fully loaded burger served with two patties as advertised on 620 CKRM.

In a world becoming ever more impersonal those at New Hope Country Convenience "strive to be different with friendly staff, fantastic hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.), and tasty food." Vogel stated.

The restaurant is easily accessible being at the corner of highways 13 and 37 just outside the town of Stoughton. They have a great menu with fantastic employees who greet you with a smile."We are a restaurant geared towards customers from all walks of life, whether it is truckers, farmers, families, labourers, etc..." Vogel was happy to say.
