Chris Brown is running as the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan candidate for the Cannington constituency.

The Nov. 7, 2011 Provincial Election will be the first time Chris has run as a candidate in any political organization. He decided to run as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan because he found the other options for his constituency did not meet his expectations.

Chris was born in Oshawa, Ontario, the son of British immigrants. His family moved around frequently while growing up, but stayed in the Toronto area. Chris has been living and working in Saskatchewan for the past four years. He is a teacher by trade and is currently the Learning Support teacher at Arcola School.

In the past, Chris has worked in the food service industry, and he has also been employed as a courier, and a dispatcher for a courier company. Other jobs he has held include: order picker, shipper/receiver, daycare worker, and baggage handler for VIA Rail. Chris has been a teacher for about four years in a few different schools including: Ituna School, NOEC (Carry-the-Kettle School), and Arcola School.

Chris has been involved in the community through sports. He currently coaches cross country running and basketball for Arcola School. Chris has always been interested in sports and competition. He is also a referee for basketball and has been assisting others to become referees. In the past, Chris has been involved in track and field, baseball, soccer, as well as chess and math competitions.

His first language is English, but Chris can also speak French, having spent two years in France after high school. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education at University of Windsor. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Education degree at the University of Regina.

Chris is the proud father of three children (Sarah 4, Elora 2, and Joseph 8 months). He and his wife Christine are raising them in Kisbey where they recently moved after having lived in Arcola for the past two years.

Chris is a down-to-earth person who believes that an MLA should be accountable to the people of the constituency and constantly seek for their welfare in the Legislature.
