Cathedral Village Arts Festival wraps up in Regina

The Street Fair, running May 23-28 along 13th Ave., marked the return of the event to Regina following the pandemic.

REGINA – This week marked the return of one of the more popular annual events in Regina.

It was the Cathedral Village Arts Festival which ran May 23-28 in the area along 13th Avenue. The event began Monday with a Victoria Day parade and continued all week with art displays, busking, short film screenings, an Evening of Dance on Thursday and finally the street fair running from Albert Street to Elphinstone.

The street fair, seen in the photo display, featured products from more than 200 artists, crafters and Cathedral businesses, as well as plenty of food vendors. Other events are planned throughout the evening to finish the festival.

The theme of this year's event was Thanks Regina, reflecting the gratitude of organizers to the public for their years of support, and for supporting the street fair in its return for the first time in three years.

According to the words of Marilyn Turnley, festival chair, in its program: "Our 2022 theme 'Thanks Regina' reflects our heartfelt gratitude to our Cathedral Village and surrounding communities. Your assistance, participation, sponsorship and support have allowed us to continue building this unique legacy known widely for melding creativity and inclusivity."
