Discussions at the latest council meeting in Carlyle were varied but town administrator Natalie Miller was happy to share a few things.
Council had the opportunity to review preliminary designs from three separate vendors for a spray park. Construction for this project will be in the spring 2021 to have it ready for summer as long as provincial guidelines permit.
Everyone was excited that the new fire hall is very close to completion. The equipment is being moved over from current location, minor follow-up work would need to be completed but will be fully operational in the coming week. Miller said council was super happy to see this project come together and on time. They weren’t sure how the pandemic would impact it, but thankfully there was minimal interruption.
With COVID restrictions in place, there was no grand opening or huge celebration of the new fire hall but the Town of Carlyle staff and council were hoping that people would rejoice in the completion of this modern, well-equipped facility for our area. A few were present for a ribbon cutting on Monday.
The most exciting news: Santa called! He is coming to Carlyle on Dec. 12. He will be accompanied down every street in Carlyle by the fire department. All kids will be allowed to greet Santa from their very own driveway – Jenn Sedor at the Carlyle Public Library is organizing this event with a few local partners and would love to give you more information if you would like. Please call the library at 306-453-6120 for details.
