The Carlyle Memorial Hall is getting a make over. The facelift is a joint effort by the Town of Carlyle, the Hall Board and The Cornerstone Theatre Group. The town is paying $7,300.00 for the renovation work, which is being done by 5th Street Construction. They have removed the old exterior brick and have made the necessary repairs for the application of the new stucco front.
The Hall is having the doors refinished by Carlyle Collision who had the winning bid for the job (which only asked for the cost of the paint). The Hall is bearing that cost to the project. Also of note, is there will be a nice sized billboard space to accommodate advertising for the many events the Memorial Hall hosts each year.
The Hall currently houses Big Daddy’s Barbershop, Hair by N Brown, is the venue for The Cornerstone Theatre Group, who also run the movie theatre during the winter months.
Doug Waldner, chairperson of the Memorial Hall Board, anticipates that repairs are likely to be finished by the middle of May, weather co-operating. He adds, “I really want to thank the town, 5th Street Construction and Carlyle Collision for their contribution to this project.â€
