      The council for Town of Carlyle met on Wednesday, May 16, to discuss town matters.
Free Dump Day
           The Town of Carlyle will be having a free dump day between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, for Carlyle residents.
Daycare
           The Government of Saskatchewan did not allocate any seats in Carlyle; but, the council is continuing to work towards bringing a daycare to Carlyle.
Sask Energy Municipal Surcharge
           Last year there was no Sask Energy Municipal Surcharge placed on bills by Sask Energy. This year the surcharge has been reinstated.
Ice plant
           Prior to the 2018-2019 hockey and figure skating seasons the Ice Plant will need to be replaced. Council is currently looking at their options in this endeavour.
Town truck
           With it being increasingly more difficult to use a dump truck, council is considering purchasing one.
Fire caution/bans
           There is currently a fire ban in the R.M. of Moose Mountain, but there is not one within the Town of Carlyle. However, an emphasis on ensuring fire caution and safety is encouraged. Fire guarding includes making sure flammable debris is removed from the area, keeping a water hose handy or at least eight litres of water to act as a fire extinguisher, and ensuring the fire is completely out before retiring for the evening.
           The Town did recommend to Lions Park facilitators that it would be a good idea to put on a fire ban within the park.
Town maintenance
           Sewer flushing and manhole repairs will begin shortly.
           JJ Trucking will be working in Lions Park to make the drainage ditch flow better.
Sask Lotto Grant Program
           The Town of Carlyle was allocated $15,576 to distribute between local groups, programs, and clubs. Applications had to be submitted to the town and decisions were made based on these applications.
           This year the Sask Lotto Grant money will go towards the Carlyle Figure Skating Club, Carlyle Fun Dayz, Carlyle Minor Ball, Carlyle Playschool, Carlyle Public Library, Cornerstone Family and Youth, Crescent Point Leisure Complex, Moose Mountain Jumpers, and Rusty Relics Museum.
