Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý For 22 years, the Carlyle DQ (Dairy Queen) has supported local kids in need with their Angel Tree and this year is no exception- the restaurant will be accepting gifts and/or gift cards for area children until midnight, Friday, Dec. 23.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý This is the third year owners Garth and Donna Mryglod have teamed up with Envision Counselling to collect and distribute gifts to kids in need throughout southeast Saskatchewan and the tree still has some requests to grant on behalf of Santa Claus as of press time.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Carlyle DQ's Alica Mryglod says, “This is our third year working with Envision. They are an amazing counselling and support service in our communities that help out of of these families in need.â€
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý “All of the gifts stay in southeast Saskatchewan and are distributed by the amazing social workers at Envision. Any gift will do for any age, but we would like to remind the community that our teenagers are usually the forgotten ones at Christmastime.â€
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý “Linda (Coffey) from Envision told us that gift certificates make great gifts for teenagers. They can use it to go out with their friends or choose something for themselves. Every agency we've ever worked with through this program has made that suggestion.â€
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý “Something as simple as a gift card can make their day.â€
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Mryglod says that Carlyle DQ is grateful for the support the Angel Tree has garnered for over 20 years and says: “The true heroes are the people from Carlyle, Arcola, Manor, Oxbow, Alameda, Carnduff, Redvers, Wawota, Kipling, Kennedy, and all of the surrounding areas for continuously helping out your fellow neighbours who aren't so fortunate during a time when everyone should be able to celebrate and rejoice.â€
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý “Thank you again for all of your support. We will be accepting gifts until midnight, December 23.
