聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 In celebration of local business in Carlyle there will be an awards night hosted this fall, either at the end of October or beginning of November.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Nicole Currie, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, explained, 鈥淲e hope to make this an annual event. We have a lot of great businesses in our community and they help grow our community, so we want people to be recognized for their efforts.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Various awards will be issued by the Chamber and certificates will be given to businesses for years spent serving the community.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The five main awards to be given out according to the Chamber information sheet include:
1.聽聽聽聽聽 New Venture Award: to be presented to a business that has been in operation for three years or less that has had success and shown positive performance in profitability, job creation, market expansion, and community involvement.
2.聽聽聽聽聽 Community Involvement Award: to be presented to a business person that is very active in supporting arts and culture, sports, education, healthcare, and voluntary groups, while maintaining a strong business image, which sets an example for commitment to public service in the community. The nominee essentially goes 鈥渁bove and beyond.鈥�
3.聽聽聽聽聽 Growth and Expansion Award: to the business that has made significant changes in their business which has created employment and investment opportunities in the area. They adapt to the economy and either keep pace or are a 鈥渟tep ahead鈥� of their market.
4.聽聽聽聽聽 Lifetime Achievement Award: to the business which has both lasted and enriched the community. They exemplify the concept of corporate social responsibility and/or mentoring at the grassroots level, having worked to make an impact in the greater business community.
5.聽聽聽聽聽 Business of the Year: an honour that showcases a business as having demonstrated exceptional performance in its marketing strategy, while working to impact the greater business community and show great pride and support for the local community. The business will have adapted and improved their products/service to keep pace with its clients and the times.
