WEYBURN – The Grades 4-6 students at Assiniboia Park Elementary School have been hard at work since the beginning of January researching, writing essays, and creating presentations on topics related to Canadian Heritage.
Grade 4s focussed on Canadian animals and Grades 5 and 6 students selected a topic of their choosing that relates to Canadian history and culture.
The students finished the essay phase and are in the presentation phase. APES held their annual Heritage Fair on Thursday, Feb. 16th.
This was the first in-person event for the Heritage Fair since 2020.
The students set up in the school gym, and on Thursday morning, community Heritage Fair judges interviewed the students on their projects.
Other classes in the school visited and toured the fair on Thursday afternoon, and in the evening, all families and community members were invited to see the Fair and talk to the students about their projects.
The projects which will advance on to the Regional Heritage Fair will be announced at a later date.
