The Sun Country Health Region has temporarily suspended emergency services as well as in-patient services at the Arcola Health Centre. This began at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and will continue until Friday, Sept. 21.

The closure of the Arcola Health Centre was due to lack of staff. Usually three physicians are in charge of covering the different shifts at the Health Centre. One, however, is currently out of the country. Another is tending to family matters, while the third physician has been ill.

The Sun Country Health Region met with the available physicians earlier as well as the owners/practitioners group to decide what could be offered in the mean time.

This is where the decision to suspend, temporarily, any emergency or in-patient services was made.

It is suggested to call 911 if you are in immediate need. The Healthline is available at 1-877-800-0002 for help as well as TTY: 1-888-425-4444. Information can also be found on the internet at, www.healthlineonline.ca.

The closest Emergency Department Services are currently available at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow, and Weyburn General Hospital.
