聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Arcola Family Health Clinic and Hospital have welcomed a new practitioner to the community.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dr. Remon Ghaly is from Egypt where he practiced medicine for 14 years prior to coming to Canada.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淢y father used to work in a small community and I used to go with him to work, so I saw the physicians there and thought about it a lot, it became a goal for me,鈥� Ghaly explained. 鈥淓ver since I was about 10-years-old this is what I wanted to do.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Arriving in Canada in 2010, Ghaly was joined by his wife and two children. Ghaly studied and wrote his exams in Ontario.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淪ask Docs came out to Ontario in 2012, a group of friends that I used to study with heard that they would be in Toronto and we decided to go,鈥� Ghaly said. 鈥淚t was a long process. I had been offered something in Newfoundland, but wanted I knew I wanted to come to Saskatchewan with my family.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 As he waited for the process to be completed with Sask Docs, Ghaly and his family moved to Calgary where Ghaly worked as at Rockyview General Hospital.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The opportunity to work in Saskatchewan finally presented itself and in discussion with Sun Country, Ghaly found that he would be headed out to Arcola. He and his family visited the area and very much liked what they saw.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚鈥檝e been in Arcola for one week, which isn鈥檛 very much time,鈥� Ghaly said. 鈥淏ut I鈥檝e been in Saskatchewan since last January.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚t鈥檚 a quiet community and there are a lot of nice people here. I鈥檝e seen a lot of nice people and there are perfect staff at the clinic and hospital. My main target here is to start my practice in Canada; I鈥檓 very thankful to Sask Docs and Sun Country to be able to start my career again.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ghaly emphasized that the people in the community have been extremely welcoming.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚鈥檝e met a lot of people and they are all very nice, everyone who sees me says, 鈥楬i,鈥欌�� Ghaly said with a smile. 鈥淚 haven鈥檛 had that in Canada yet because we lived in Calgary and out in Ontario, both very busy places. It鈥檚 very nice to have that here. It makes me feel very comfortable here.鈥�
