Gary and Brenda Junk spent a few days last week in Alberta visiting with their family and returned home to Alida on Oct. 20.

Justin and Alesha Boettcher and big brother Zachary welcomed their baby girl Georgia Lynn into the family, who arrived safe and sound on Oct. 18. Congratulations everyone.

The Alida community extends sincere sympathy to the Ross McKinna family. Ross had passed away at Carnduff Sunset Haven on Oct. 19 at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by his wife ShirelyAnn and son Mark. Ross is survived by his son Scott (Leona) and daughters Marina (Paul) Poulsen and Dianna (Hector) Gervais, 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service will take place at the Carnduff Cemetery. Condolences are also extended to all other family members as well.

The doors at 361 Café were opened in the evening for supper on Oct. 22 – the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic hit and changed things for everyone. There was a nice turnout for supper. Some came for takeout, others for a sit down meal, all keeping a safe distance apart. It was so nice to be able to be back and hopefully the suppers will now continue. Great work Lori and crew.

It’s the last of another month and the 11th month will be upon us – don’t let the spooks or goblins or ghouls or ghosts or witches get to you. Just have a very spectacular Halloween everyone.
