Alida News – Where does the time go?

Another week is over and believe it or not, in just a couple of days, another month will be finished, too. Where oh where does the time go? August came and now is almost gone.

Where oh where does the time go?

August came and now is almost gone. COVID-19 is still lurking in the background, keeping everyone alert on their toes. We’ve been so fortunate around this area as nothing seems to be around – thank goodness.

Hate to burst the holiday bubble by mentioning that school will be opening up soon too – it has been postponed a week and now won’t open until after the Labour Day long weekend. Sept. 8 is the day. Hopefully all goes well, a little nerve-wracking for some, but I’m sure all will be fine.

John Cowan of Hillcrest, Alta., arrived Aug. 23 to the Cowan farm where he will be visiting with the family for and helping with the harvest once again.

Yes, harvest is now in full swing – we’ve swathed all our canola fields and now combining wheat (almost done the first field and will be moving to the next). Busy, busy time of the year.

Once again folks, please remember to be extra careful when out working in the fields around with that big machinery. Good Luck everyone.

As you can see not much news, as everyone is busy with their lives and not visiting much now, so not too much news to report. Enjoy these last few days at the swimming pool kids, the weather has been just great for that.

Please remember folks keep me posted whenever you have news – simply contact me anytime on the happenings that are going on in and around Alida as well as within your family circle, either call me at 306-443-2496, text at 306-485-8561 or e-mail [email protected]. I will see that your news gets into a paper. I do appreciate all your input as it does help keep this column interesting.

Until next time, keep smiling, think positive, drive safely and take care.
