The school in Manor was the recipient of the goodwill of Country Garden Greenhouse in Carlyle, receiving seven trees that were planted in the northeast corner of the schoolyard.

The trees were donated to the Village of Manor, who in turn, felt they would be well received by the students at the local school.  A volunteer crew to plant the trees was organized by members of the Manor School Community Council.

The trees will provide a learning experience for the students who will be able to identify them by species and providing insight into the importance of green space and as well someday, future students will enjoy cooling off in the shade they will provide on hot days, while on recess or taking a break from the playing in the school yard during summer.

The trees consist of two each of Diablo Nine Bark and Dwarf Honeysuckle, and singles of Dogwood, Sage Leaf Willow, and a Golden Rod.

Other recent improvements to the schoolyard are two play structures that were recently installed on June 24 by volunteers from the community and the donation of five helpful labourers from Vermillion Energy. The structures consist of a dome climber and a space station that were acquired from 1-Stop Playgrounds in Humboldt, SK.
