A truck convoy has left Estevan and is on its way to Regina for this afternoon's Rally Against the Carbon Tax.Ìý
The convoy left Estevan's east industrial area at 7 a.m. Thursday morning. Several properties served as gathering points due to the number of participants that registered.Ìý
The convoy featured a long line of semi-trailer units and other vehicles that are heading to Regina this afternoon for the rally, which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at Queensbury Downs. The rally will feature several speakers.
The rally is being organized in opposition to the carbon tax, which came into effect on Monday, and in opposition to pipelines.Ìý
The convoy is taking Highways 39 and 6 to Regina. It will divert over to Highway 33 just before it reaches the Queen City.
More than 600 people have registered to be part of the convoy.
