Update: Power being restored following large outage in Estevan and area

Areas in Estevan and southeast Saskatchewan have been hit by a power outage on Friday. The power went out just after 11:30 a.m. According to a tweet from SaskPower, the outage affects Estevan and all surrounding areas, including north to Stoughton.

Early Friday afternoon, SaskPower reported that power had been restored to Estevan, and other areas were back online by 2:30 p.m.Ìý

According to a tweet from SaskPower, the affected communities also include Lampman, Alameda, Steelman, Hirsch, North Portal and Roche Percee and all surrounding areas. Also affected is Boundary Dam.

Crews are patrolling transmission lines to find the source of the outage. There is no estimated time of restoration for those still without electricity.

This is the third outage to strike the Estevan area this week. Previous outages occurred on Sunday and Tuesday.
