The 麻豆视频east College has announced that its students have received $16,500 in scholarships and bursaries from its Estevan campus.
The awards were distributed to students in various Estevan programs including heavy equipment and truck and transport technician, industrial mechanic and first-year university.
This year a formal luncheon was unable to take place, but that did not subtract from the value of the awards.
鈥淲e are incredibly proud of our students, and everything they have achieved, and continue to work towards,鈥� said Kassandra Lawrenz, manager of college advancement. 鈥淪tudent awards are a great opportunity not only to celebrate the work our students put in, but also to recognize and express our most sincere gratitude to the outstanding support we receive from the community and our partners.鈥�
麻豆视频east College scholarships and bursaries are made possible by donations from community organizations, businesses and individuals, as well as various fundraising events such as the College鈥檚 Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournaments. Eligible funds are matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education through the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) program.
This year鈥檚 scholarship recipients are:
Fire Sky Energy 鈥� Ronald Wanner Scholarship: Lincoln Garton, industrial mechanic
Souris Valley Paving (now operating as GenCo Asphalt Inc.): Courtland Herzog, heavy equipment and truck and transport technician; and Brett Grieve, heavy e3quipment and truck and transport technician.
Weyburn Oilwomen鈥檚 Association Pursuit of Oilfield Excellence Scholarship: Ayja Hegland, industrial mechanic.
City of Estevan Bursary: Courtland Herzog, heavy equipment and truck and transport technician; and Brett Grieve, heavy equipment and truck and transport technician.
Estevan Lions Club Bursary: Maxim Ginzburg, heavy equipment and truck and transport technician.
Quota International of Estevan Saskatchewan Opportunity Scholarship: Lisa Frederick, university.
Power Dodge Scholarship: Ajya Hegland, industrial mechanic, and Gordon Turnr, industrial mechanic.
