ESTEVAN - A familiar fundraiser will be making its return to Estevan and locations throughout Canada next week.

The annual McHappy Day will take place on Sept. 22 at the Estevan McDonalds and other locations of the restaurant across Canada.

A portion of the proceeds from every item sold on McHappy Day will go directly to the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon, which provides a temporary home for families who have children undergoing a treatment at a nearby hospital or medical facility.

This year’s McHappy Day marks a change from previous editions, as traditionally proceeds from the sale of select menu items would go to Ronald McDonald House.

It’s not the only fundraiser happening at McDonalds. The restaurant has also launched an initiative named Nickel a Nugget. For every single Chicken McNugget sold in the month of September, the Estevan McDonalds will donate a portion of the proceeds to the United Way Estevan for its upcoming telethon on Oct. 15 and 16.
