WEYBURN - Small Business Week is October 16-22, and what better way to kick off the week with a campaign that will help strengthen the local economy, support local employment opportunities, and ensure that small businesses thrive in the current economy.

Weyburn’s small businesses are important to the economy, and while supporting them they help support the community.

Weyburn Chamber is bringing back ‘Chamber Bucks’ for the second year in a row to encourage locals to support local. From Oct. 17, to Nov. 17, the Chamber wants you to get out and support the local community. By doing that, you could possibly win $1,000 in Chamber Bucks.

The rules are simple: make a purchase between Oct. 17 to Nov. 17 from a Weyburn Chamber Member (the directory of members can be found on the Chamber website at www.weyburnchamber.com).

Bring the receipt down to the Chamber office at 11 Third Street NE, and they will ensure that your receipt is qualified. Then your name is entered into the $1,000 Chamber Bucks draw.

A few rules to remember is they will only be accepting receipts from Weyburn Chamber members, for purchases made from Oct. 17 to Nov. 17, and each day each individual is allowed to bring in one receipt per business.

“The winner will have the opportunity to spend the $1,000 at many Weyburn Chamber businesses throughout the community,” explained Monica Osborn, executive director of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

“We want to encourage people to shop local; and we are excited to give out $1,000 of Chamber Bucks to a lucky individual, the possibility of spending more money in our local economy during the Christmas months,” Osborn said.
